How to apply self tan cosmetics?
There are a few tips and tricks you need to follow to achieve the perfect look with self-tanners. In this section, we will share with you tips on how to prepare the skin for the application of self-tanners.
BEFORE USING THE PRODUCTS
Ideally about 12-24 hours before application
1. Exfoliate
The first step to successful self-tanning is a thorough peeling of the whole body. Exfoliation will remove dead skin cells and leave your skin evenly smooth and ready for the application of self-tanner. We recommend a sugar or salt based scrub, not an oil or coffee based scrub. Alternatively, if you don't have a given scrub, just use a scrub glove instead.
2. Shave
If you have hair on your legs or other parts of your body, it is important to shave it off before using the self-tanner. If you do not shave certain parts of your body, you do not need to do it for the application, the hairs will not affect the final effect.
3. Shower
Wash off all cosmetics (deodorants, creams, perfumes).
PRODUCT APPLICATION
If you have dry hands, feet, knees, elbows and face, apply a small amount of cream just before application. It is ideal to use an oil-free cream.
The application itself is really simple. Apply an appropriate amount of product to the glove and spread it evenly all over the body in circular motions. When applying the product to the ankles, toes and hands and face, we recommend using a brush and a very small amount of the product. Apply the product to these areas only at the end.
Do not wash the glove because you would spoil the effect on your hands. Wait about 3 minutes for the preparation to be completely absorbed into the skin, and then you can get dressed. I recommend dark clothes, because you can stain your clothes while the cream is working. Don't worry, everything will go smoothly.
Leave to act according to the instructions on the product packaging. During this time, avoid water, sweating, physical activity and do not wear a bra.
IF THE PERIOD EXPIRES,
SHOWER
it is necessary to wash properly, WITHOUT using a sponge, scrub or loofah, shower gel or soap. What you see after showering is not the final color.
HYDRATION
Now comes the crucial part, which is hydration. You need to apply a moisturizing body lotion or butter. This "locks" the tan into the skin. Do not use DOVE products (14 days). The final effect will be visible up to 12 hours after showering.
Hydration is important all the time after self-tanning, you need to take care of it in the same way as when tanning in the sun - that means moisturizing regularly, not rubbing with a towel or using scrubs.
If you already feel that the tan has completely washed off (about 7-14 days after application), exfoliate to get rid of the last remnants of the tan. Your skin will be ready for a new application again.
